Adveniat Hiems: Loki

28/07/10  ||  Lord K Philipson

“Italian atmospheric black metal”. That’s what is says. We are off to a great fucken start, that’s for sure. Italian atmospheric black metal, people. That’s the new, eh… black.

Influences: “Burzum, Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Emperor, Moonsorrow, Novembre, Bathory, Marduk, Cradle Of Filth, Arcturus, Dark Funeral, Mayhem, My Dying Bride, Candlemass, Imperium Dekadenz.”

They have 200 friends or so on MySpace. Considering the recipe for success they have going for them, Metallica – watch the fuck out. Also, they write “concept albums about northern mythology and themes from the nord-european folklore”.

Guys, you are from fucken Italy

You know this is going to fucken blow in so many ways it’s hard to even fathom. You know this is going to piss you off and make you wonder why the fuck they even bothered to send this crap to Global Domination. Fuck do they expect? What are the odds that we’ll praise the fuck out of it and make the band in question seem like the sexiest thing since Megan Fox went for a nude swim? Seriously. Italian atmospheric black metal my fucken ass.

Repeating the same semi-slow and supposed-to-be-melodic crap riff for a few minutes and repeating the formula for the next riff isn’t “atmospheric”, fuckos. And adding whispering evuuuuuuuul vocals isn’t “atmospheric” either. It’s just ridiculous and it sounds like you are fucken retarded beyond repair. And when this whispering idiot is trying some “real” singing, this shit turns into a complete farce and into the bin it goes this here CD. You would imagine an “atmospheric” production to go with it, right? Fuck yeah, you got it, bitches! On top of it all they have an own section for “dark landscapes” at their MySpace. Priceless shit right there.

I am wrapping this up with a friendly advice…

Don’t send any of your material to Global Domination EVER again.
